International Congress on Complementary Medicine Research Recap

The 14th International Congress on Complementary Medicine Research took place between  7th May– 10th May  at The Brisbane Exhibition Centre. A gathering of over 400 Complimentary Medicine Researchers, Students & practitioners attended from over 30 countries across the globe.

The theme for this year’s event was “Pathways & Partnerships” – Bridging the gap between practice research as well as clinician & researcher, recognising an increasing need to develop deeper collaboration between health & medical research and a whole host of stake holders.

Pre-congress workshops included a morning session with Dr Amie Steel & Professor Jon Adams on “Converting clinical insights & experiences into valid & rigorous research a clinician’s guide” , following on with an interactive session on “Developing a public Health agenda in traditional , complimentary and integrative healthcare” which was hosted by Dr Jon Wardle, Professor Jon Adams & Dr Daniel Gallegos-Perez.

The following 3 days saw a wide range of research contributions, presentations & poster sessions demonstrating research outcomes that have been rigorously examined & which support those invested in the routine grass-roots of everyday health behaviour & care.

As well as the striking & significant depth & breadth of research presentations, the opportunity to meet & network with overseas colleagues within the complimentary health care field was most informative & enjoyable.

An social evening & Conference party took place on the Thursday evening at River Life, showing Brisbane at its best to our overseas guests – A warm fine evening with delicious food & wine & much dancing to a local band.

ICCMR is the pre-eminent annual research event for the field convened by Endeavour College of Natural Health in partnership with the International Society for Complementary Medicine Research. Further info at http://iccmr2019.com/
